Privacy Policy — Meet Auto-Record

Last updated: 10 July 2026

Meet Auto-Record ("the extension") is a Google Chrome extension that, on Google Meet pages, prompts the user to start Google Meet's built-in recording and Gemini notes, and clicks those controls on the user's behalf.

Data we collect

None. The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. It does not use analytics, trackers, or external servers. It communicates with no server operated by us or any third party.

Local settings

The extension saves your preferences (whether to record automatically, and whether to start recording, Gemini notes, and captions) using Chrome's storage API. This information is stored locally in your own browser only, is used solely to remember your choices, and never leaves your device.

Permissions

The extension runs only on meet.google.com, where it detects that you have joined a meeting and clicks Google Meet's own recording and note-taking buttons for you. It does not access any other website.
